Message from HEC Secretariat

The Harbour-front Enhancement Committee ("HEC") is an advisory body tasked to advise the Government on planning, land uses and developments along the existing and new harbour-front of Victoria Harbour with an aim to drawing together the community's aspirations and efforts in building consensus amongst multi-stakeholders in creating a vibrant harbour-front for the enjoyment of the community.

The HEC adopts an open and transparent mode of operation and welcomes ideas and suggestions on harbour-front enhancement from all sectors of the community.

Upon receipt of ideas and suggestions, they will be circulated to HEC Members for information. With your agreement and subject to HEC Members' views, you may be invited to present your ideas to the full HEC or its Sub-committee(s).

We should be grateful if you could provide us with -

(a) The soft and hard copies of a summary of your ideas by filling in the proforma at Annex which will be circulated to HEC Members and uploaded to the HEC website; and

(b) The soft and 65 hard copies of a full set of the supporting details of your submission, if any, to be deposited at the HEC library for reference by HEC Members and the public upon request.

For your information, the HEC has scheduled to hear your ideas and suggestions at the following dates -

  • 5 January 2005, Wednesday*
  • 6 April 2005, Wednesday (tentative)
  • 3 August 2005, Wednesday (tentative)
  • 7 December 2005, Wednesday (tentative)

* The briefing will be held at the Conference Room, 15/F North Point Government Offices, 333 Java Road, North Point, Hong Kong.
